Velveteen the touch,
Slithery as a snake,
Soft
Not
Ecstasy - pain.
Autumn leaves falling,
Autumn leaves falling,
Colours of the wind,
Vivid
Yes
Silhouette – dim.
Desert winds blowing,
Desert winds blowing,
Sandpaper on skin,
Rough
Not
Courage - within.
Molten ice and fire,
Molten ice and fire,
Satin ribbons undulate,
Sated
Yes

I saw the picture first and then read your poem. Your words reflect what my thoughts were!!
The picture is beautiful and startling! Your poem - as always - is lovely!
Thanks, Smriti.
Interestingly, I thought of the picture only after I wrote the poem and figured it was a perfect fit. I have a strong feeling though, that the artist's thoughts were entirely different. :-)
Koosie,
I loved the poem.
As an artist it doesn't mean that a viewer must get what I was saying, after all there were many stages to creating one work, manual and layouts. If a viewer returns after seeing a painting that can influence a thought, inspiration and the image lingers on if only for a moment, well thats the thrill you get as an artist.
Gandy
Thanks, Gandy.:-)
