Liquid Reverie

Weaves of laughter threaded the air,
Slivers of sunlight warmed with care,
She walked among them, soft and fair,
Touching their colours, yet feeling so bare.

She walked among them in her world – alone,
A silver star in search of colours unknown,
The Fates, they spun her gold, silver and mauve,
Blinded by grey, she shivered in sunlight – cold.

Her footsteps reached the white sands of lore,
Burned her numb soul till her heart beat once more,
Soft brown eyes captured her reflection - pure,
Her colours glowed through the mists of new shores.

The laughter floated on a song through the air,
The sunlight danced – a whirling dervish with no care,
Gold and silver entwined with mauve - rare,
No longer alone, but a part of the dream she dared.

If I had to dedicate a piece to Mother Teresa or Meera Bai, this would be it! I mean that in a good way, before you jump to any conclusions!!

Smriti: The truth is, I wrote this one for a lovely young lady I know, so I guess I'm not going to jump the gun and kill you or anything! :-)
