A Brush with Winter

The Ice Queen's fingers touch her,
A shiver runs down her spine,
Winter's breath upon her,
Will she succumb to the lie?

Or will she keep looking
For sunlight on morning dew,
Magic in mundane moments,
Miracles in every shade and hue?

Deep within this barren land,
Winter knows the ice will thaw,
For Spring will arrive in perfect time
To melt the darkness with her song.

A song of love and wonder,
A dance of joy and pain,
The horizon ablaze with colour
As she spreads her wings again.
