Child of Destiny

A child stands beside
a felled tree trunk,
Reciting a rhyme
to enter fairyland,
Day turns to night,
Night into day,
The child stops believing
in the land of the fae.

A princess lies dying
in a pool of blood,
The tragedy witnessed
by her one true love,
Part human, part fae,
Her destiny lay,
In uniting both worlds,
Dissolving the veil.

A woman walks through
woodland and glen,
Drawn to a waterfall
time and again,
On the day
when the sun stands still,
Timelines merge,
Healing begins.

A child stands beside
a felled tree trunk,
Reciting the words
that reveal lost shores,
The child's eyes widen,
In wonder, in awe,
As the shimmer unveils
the land of ancient lore.
