Itty Bitty Stories - Cookie the Cat

(Thanks for playing, Sija, Sera and Aswathy.)

Kavita:
Cookie's eyes glinted in anticipation of his Thursday morning treat. His favourite lady with the dimpled smile passed through this alleyway every morning at 9:15 a.m. and Cookie was ready. There he was, hiding behind the garbage bin, cute little cat bottom wiggling away in excitement at the thought of his pounce-and-grab-leg routine when the whiff of something strange permeated the air. Something was wrong, very wrong, he just knew it.

Sija:
Cookie walked around the bin towards the smell. It grew stronger as he neared the park. There it was, the source of the smell, a limp deer lying in the midst of the trees. Anticipation building inside of him, he walked around to get a better look only to falter and stop midstride. The deer was dead. Headless! Something had bitten its head off and whatever it was seemed to be out there still.

Sera:
Cookie stood there shocked and frozen with fear. "Should I go further and look for who did this or should I get back to my familiar zone," he wondered. At last he decided to go back to the garbage bin. He ran as fast as his legs could carry him to where he usually awaited his treat.

Aswathy:
His heart raced and his eyes were glazed over with fear as he bumped into the garbage bin and startled himself.  Looking at the bin he saw the shadow of a huge furry animal and yowled in fear until he realized it was him with all his fur standing on end. "Oh kitty, kitty! Did that scare you? You poor dear!" his lady friend said. She pulled out his treat and gave it to him while stroking his back soothingly. "You’re going to see more of this from now on," she said. "I’m a skin changer and when I get really hungry I’m a Tyrannosaurus Rex."
